WHAT IS LOCALITIES ALL ABOUT
The Inverclyde HSCP Locality Groups are established in accordance with the Public Bodies (Joint Working) (Scotland) Act 2014, the Act puts in place the legislative framework to integrate health and social care services in Scotland. Section 29(3) (a) of the Act noted above requires each integration Authority to establish at least two localities within its area.
• Locality....“a smaller area within the borders of an Integration Authority”
• Purpose…. “to provide an organisational mechanism for local leadership of service planning... localities must have real influence on how resources are spent in their area”
• Aim…. ‘to ensure that the benefits of better integration improve health and wellbeing outcomes by providing a forum for professionals, communities and individuals to inform service redesign; improvement and utilisation of resources’.
