Electric Charge Points

Electric Vehicle Charger

To support you in making the switch to electric power, Inverclyde Council has a reliable network of chargers.

Use the interactive map of chargers available at Charge Place Scotland, to discover the locations of all of our public chargers, plus others on the national ChargePlace Scotland network, all accessible via a single account.

Additionally, more and more businesses (e.g. supermarkets, hotels, fuel stations and private developers) are providing charging options for their customers. Locations of these are often available at ZapMap or Plugshare.

Charges for accessing EV Charge Points

There is a small cost to using local, council provided charge points. These costs are detailed at each EV Charge Point. Connection fee is £1. Then £0.50 per kWh (22kW and Lower, Fast and Slow chargers); £0.75 per kWh (43kW & Higher and Rapid chargers).

Reporting a fault of EV Charge Point

If you observe a fault with a charger on the ChargePlace Scotland network, please use their fault reporting form to provide information about the fault.

Funding, grants and loans

If you are looking to invest in an electric vehicle, there is a useful comparison tool on the Energy Saving Trust website which illustrates how the initial purchase cost is usually off-set by the fuel savings over a number of years. They also offer interest free loans available for individuals and businesses to purchase electric vehicles.
