Parking in Port Glasgow
There are a number of car parks in Port Glasgow Town Centre, namely, Princes Street, Shore Street, Fore Street, Highholm Avenue Park & Ride and William Street.
On Monday 3 October 2022 parking charges will be introduced in Fore Street and Shore Street car parks. The restrictions will apply, Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm and Zone PG1 permit holders and Blue Badge holders will be exempt from these charges. The tariff in these car parks will be:
0-3 hours – free (1 free stay per town per day)
3+ hours - £2 per day
Pay & Display tickets must be displayed no matter how long vehicles park.
Princes Street car park has a maximum length of stay of 2 hours (3 hours for Blue Badge holders). The restrictions apply, Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm.
Highholm Avenue and William Street car parks are free of charge and vehicles can park as long as required.The restrictions these 2 car parks apply, Monday to Saturday 8am to 6pm.
Parking is also free on-street in Port Glasgow Town Centre (Zone PG1) where vehicles can park for up to 1 hour, Monday to Friday from 8am to 6pm.
Resident permit holders with a Zone PG1 permit are exempt from the limited waiting restrictions and parking charges.
Zone PG1 also contains some roads with "Permit Holder Only Monday to Friday from 8.15am to 9.15am and 5pm to 6pm" restrictions. They are Court Road, Huntly Terrace and Huntly Place. These permits allow holders only to park in the streets within their zones.
