Meliora Community Fund 2022

Meliora Festival logo

Inverclyde Council would like to invite constituted groups and non for profit organisations to apply for a local community funding grant to help deliver a local community event as part of the Inverclyde Meliora Celebrations for 2022.

What is the Meliora Festival?

Meliora means “in the pursuit of betterment” and this year we want to bring our local communities together to celebrate the resilience and compassion you have shown over the last two years.

In addition to our three headline events in May and June, we are delighted to be offering a supportive funding opportunity for local community groups to deliver events in their area.

The events are intended to provide an opportunity for communities to socialise and reconnect with others during the summer through delivery of a range of activities.

It is therefore important that the events benefit the wider community. This may include events as part of the Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

Inverclyde Council has allocated a fund of £120,000 to be split across the six locality areas for community events. Each locality area will be asked via the local communication and engagement group to help shape, decide and organise events using their £20,000 allocation.
More details are contained within the application form and supporting documentation.
The closing date for application to be submitted is 4th March 2022 at 4.00pm

How can I take part?

Please complete an application detailing the event that your organisation would like to deliver in your community that will encourage social inclusion and celebrate local resilience.

The views and needs of the wider community should be taken into account when planning Meliora 2022 provision and these should be captured the application form.

The online form can be found within the other website section and a paper based form can be found within the document section of this webpage. Please return the paper based form to the address within the contacts section.

Are there any information sessions about how to apply?

There will an opportunity to attend a digital meeting to ask any questions regarding the fund:

  • 16th February 2022 @ 11.00am
  • 16th February 2022@ 18.30pm

To attend either of above digital meetings please email calum.mclellan@inverclyde.gov.uk

We encourage community groups in each locality to work in partnership in order to maximise the funds available and avoid any duplication.

If we receive applications that are similar we will encourage the groups to work in partnership and submit a joint application. The closing date for application to be submitted is 4th March 2022 @ 4.00pm
