Description: I hope this letter finds you well. I am currently a resident in Bournemouth Road, Gourock and am writing to express my deep concern regarding recent spates of vandalism in our neighbourhood, specifically in Bournemouth Road and Weymouth Crescent and estate. As a resident and member of this community, I believe it is essential to address this issue promptly to maintain the safety to every resident in this neighbourhood.
Over the past week (1st Oct and 4th Oct) there have been numerous instances of vandalism to cars and houses (smashing windows), this is not the first time this has happened. These acts are creating an atmosphere of extreme insecurity and in some cases impacting people’s mental health.
I kindly request, along with all other residents, that you take immediate action to address this issue. Some steps that should be strongly considered:
1. Blocking the pathway at the top of Bournemouth Road to Plymouth to stop people coming through the estate from the Larkfield area with a fence.
2. Increase police presence in this area in the evenings/through the night
3. CCTV installation
4. Promote awareness campaign about negative impact of vandalism and consequences
I believe that with collective efforts between the residents and the local council we can put an end to this cowardly behaviour and restore the safety in our neighbourhood. I am willing to collaborate with the local council and residents to find effective solutions to this issue.
I strongly believe the quick cut
through from Larkfield to
Bournemouth and surrounding
resvoirs, makes this area a very
vunerable location for vandalism.
Thank you for your attention to this matter and I look forward to hearing a positive response.
Yours faithfully
