Storm Eowyn Red Weather Warning
The Met Office has issued a Red Weather Warning for dangerous winds during Storm Éowyn which include the Inverclyde Council area from 7am to 5pm on Friday 24 January 2025.
Schools
In light of the Red weather warning that is in place for tomorrow, Friday 24 January 2025, the decision has been made to close all Inverclyde Early Years Centres, Primary Schools, Secondary Schools and ASN schools.
Council/HSCP buildings
All Inverclyde Council buildings will be closed on Friday 24 January 2025.
This includes Greenock Municipal Buildings and the Customer Service Centre.
Inverclyde Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) buildings will also be closed on Friday 24 January 2025. However, Inverclyde Centre, Wellpark Centre and Crown House will remain open.
Critical care services will continue.
Customer Service Centre
Our Customer Service Centre will be closed for public access on Friday 24 January 2025.
However, a limited service will be available over the phone on 01475 717171 or by emailing customerservice@inverclyde.gov.uk
There will be no services for routine enquiries for Council Tax, Revenues & Benefits, and Payments.
Registrars will not be available to take any birth or death registrations or enquiries on Friday 24 January.
Bins
There will be no bin collections on Friday 24 January 2025.
Please do not leave your bin out for collection.
Alternative arrangements will be shared as soon as possible.
Recycling Centres
Recycling Centres (Pottery Street and Craigmuschat) will be closed to the public on Friday 24 January 2025.
Burials and Cremations
All burials and cremations scheduled for Friday 24 January 2025 have been postponed due to the Red weather warning.
Libraries and Museum
All Inverclyde libraries will be closed on Friday 24 January 2025, including the Watt Institution, incorporating the McLean Museum & Art Gallery, Watt Hall, and Watt Library.
Community Centres
Community Centres throughout Inverclyde will be closed on Friday 24 January 2025.
Inverclyde Leisure
All Inverclyde Leisure facilities will be closed on Friday 24 January 2025.
