Roadworks statement
We acknowledge the difficulties experienced by road users over the very recent period. This has mainly been caused by a number of roadworks on both the trunk roads and local road networks.
The footway resurfacing works on the A78 at Pennyfern are being carried out on behalf of Transport Scotland by their operating company, Amey, who are responsible for the planning, co-ordination and delivery of these works.
The works at A770 Eldon Street were emergency works being carried out by Scottish Power and related to a supply fault affecting a considerable number of premises/customers. We worked with Scottish Power and their contractors to ensure that the route was fully reopened at the earliest.
We were aware of a temporary traffic light fault on the A770 at Patrick Street this morning and this has now been rectified. We apologise for the inconvenience caused.
Scottish Water programmed works at Larkfield Road have been ongoing for a period of time and are nearing completion. We have asked Scottish Water to review their works at Curlew Crescent with a view to rearranging these works to an alternative date if practical.
Utility companies are not required to notify us about emergency works prior to the works starting on site.
While we are not responsible for directly managing all works on the road network, we will, in accordance with the Roads Acts, continue to liaise with other road authorities (including Transport Scotland/Amey), utilities and other stakeholders in relation to the coordination of roadworks.
