Wallace Place Car Park Closure
Wallace Place car park will be closed on Tuesday 7, Wednesday 8, and Thursday 9 May 2024 to allow for a crane to assist ongoing Greenock Town Hall roof works.
The closure will be from Hunters Place to ensure there is no vehicle movement under the A78 trunk road overpass.
Deliveries to Wallace Place and parking in the 2-hour spaces is not allowed during these works.
Anyone who would normally enter Greenock Municipal Buildings via Wallace Place should instead enter via the main entrance on Clyde Square.
Access to and from the Carriageway should be unaffected, as should access for pedestrians between the Bullring Roundabout and entrance to the Oak Mall.
The crane will then move to the Wallace Place slip road off the A8, which is already closed, and this will mean access to the Fire Museum and the Provost Car Park will not be available from Tuesday 7 May until Saturday 11 May 2024 inclusive.
Fire exits will be unaffected by the closures and works.
The contractor has apologised in advance for any inconvenience caused but the restrictions are required to ensure the works are carried out safely.
