Notice of UK Parliamentary General Election 2024 published

The notice of election for the Inverclyde and Renfrewshire West constituency for the 2024 UK Parliamentary General Election has now been published, formally starting the process.

Voters will take to the polls on Thursday 4 July 2024 to elect an MP for Inverclyde and Renfrewshire West.

Everyone who chooses to vote in person at the General Election will now need to show photo ID at the polling station or apply for a Voter Authority Certificate.

It’s quicker and easier to apply online to register to vote and apply for a postal or proxy vote.

Key dates:

  • 18 June: Register to vote by 11:59pm 
  • 19 June: Apply for postal vote by 5pm
  • 26 June: Apply for proxy vote by 5pm
  • 26 June: Apply for free voter ID by 5pm
