Amber weather warning for rain
An Amber weather warning for severe and prolonged rain has been issued by the Met Office.
The warning covers a large area of the country from the West, including Inverclyde, Central Belt and parts of the North and is in place from 3am on Saturday 7 October 2023 through until 6am on Sunday 8 October 2023.
It is expected that there will be flooding and dangerous driving conditions. There could also be damage to homes and businesses and potentially danger to life in some areas.
