Recovery Walk Scotland 2023 will take place in…Inverclyde
Update from the Scottish Recovery Consortium:
Recovery Walk Scotland is Scottish Recovery Consortium’s flagship event. For over a decade, Recovery Walk Scotland has taken place every September with the aim to make recovery from substance use visible and accessible to more people, and to reduce the stigma that unfortunately still accompanies addiction. This is a national event and last year we were thrilled to have over 4,000 of you walk with us in remembrance and celebration in Paisley.
This year, we are pleased to announce that Recovery Walk Scotland 2023 will take place this September in Inverclyde.
The day will include:
-
Our Roses Ceremony, to remember those we have lost to substance use and suicide
-
The Recovery Walk procession through Inverclyde
-
Recovery Festival Village featuring tented village, speakers and live music to celebrate everything that makes recovery so special and important
SRC look forward to working in partnership with Inverclyde Alcohol and Drug Partnership to deliver this year’s Recovery Walk Scotland. Kenny Leinster, Independent Chair of Inverclyde ADP said:
“As independent Chair of the ADP I welcome the opportunity to have the Recovery Walk in Inverclyde. This is a fantastic opportunity for Inverclyde Alcohol and Drug Partnership to celebrate Recovery alongside The Scottish Recovery Consortium. In welcoming the Recovery Walk to Inverclyde we are challenging the stigma associated with alcohol and drugs and celebrating the benefits of Recovery for individuals, families and the community”
More information and exact date will follow. Please make sure you are following all Recovery Walk Scotland social accounts, and are signed up to the SRC newsletter so you’re the first to know all details once they are available!
