Council funding of up to £10k available

Community groups across Inverclyde can now apply for grants of up to £10,000 from a council fund aimed at supporting vital grassroots work.

Applications are now being accepted for the Community Grants Fund before the deadline of 12 noon on Wednesday 19 July 2023.

The fund provides one-off financial support to community, sports and voluntary organisations within Inverclyde.

Money is set aside in the council budget each year to support such groups to help across three main categories of facilities/core costs, project costs, and fee waivers.

Organisations applying for funding will also need to specify how it would be used to contribute to and benefit the wider community in line with the local priorities of repopulation, local economy and inequalities or environment, culture and heritage.

The capping of grants at £10k for all three categories also means that there is the potential for more groups to access funding from the council.

The Community Grants Fund combines the former Grants to Voluntary Organisations (GTVO), Under-19s Sports and Community Hall Waivers schemes.

Further information is available on the council website at www.inverclyde.gov.uk/communitygrants or via the link in the Related Links section of this page.

Applications received by 12 noon on Wednesday 19 July 2023 will be considered by the grants sub-committee at its next meeting.
