Community Grants fund second round is open
Community, sports and voluntary groups across Inverclyde still have time to apply for the second round of community grants from the council.
Groups can apply for up to £10k towards their work supporting people in communities across Inverclyde.
Applications are being accepted for the second round of funding from the council’s Community Grants Fund, which has a balance of £23,000 remaining.
In Round 1, the grants sub-committee approved awards totalling £283,000 with 102 groups benefitting.
With a balance of £23,000 remaining for Round 2, priority will be given to groups who did not apply for funding in the previous round to ensure support within this financial year is given to as many applicants as possible across Inverclyde.
Councillor Graeme Brooks, who chairs the council’s grants sub-committee, said: “We have such a wide range of groups doing amazing work right in the heart of communities across Inverclyde.
“Money is set aside each year by the council to provide one-off support to give groups a helping hand in doing that good work which benefits our area so much.
“The pot of money available has a limit, so the role of the members of the grants sub-committee is to make sure the money spent achieves the maximum benefit across Inverclyde.”
Groups must meet the eligibility criteria to be able to apply and must also demonstrate how funding would contribute to and benefit the wider community in line with the local priorities of empowered people; working people; healthy people and places; a supportive place and a thriving place.
Applications must be received by 12noon on Monday 18 December to be considered by the grants sub-committee at its meeting in February 2024.
The Community Grants Fund combines the Grants to Voluntary Organisations (GTVO), Under-19s Sports and Community Hall Waivers funding pots.
