CVS Inverclyde Announces Annual Conference 2022
Inverclyde’s third sector conference is returning on Thursday 17 November.
CVS Inverclyde’s annual event will focus on the cost of living crisis and how we support our communities and also help third sector organisations who are facing huge pressures.
We’re excited to announce two keynote speakers: Cllr Elizabeth Robertson, Chair of Inverclyde Alliance, Community Planning Partnership and Tom Arthur MSP, cabinet secretary for Public Finance, Planning and Community Wealth.

CVS Inverclyde CEO, Charlene Elliott, said: “We’re looking forward to getting the sector together to discuss the challenges and opportunities ahead of us.
“This year we’re focusing on the most pressing issue: the cost of living. Our conference theme is about how Inverclyde’s third sector is supporting communities, and also how we can help the helpers and support charities and voluntary groups, at this really difficult time as third sector groups are facing these challenges too.
“We’re putting together an exciting line-up of speakers and presenters and we’re thrilled that Cllr Elizabeth Robertson and Tom Arthur MSP are joining us. We’re anticipating exciting and thought-provoking discussions and it’s great to get our local sector together again to share ideas and knowledge.
“After two previous successful virtual conferences, we’re going online again this year because it means we can keep costs down for ourselves and attendees and also make it more accessible.”
Councillor Elizabeth Robertson, chair of the Inverclyde Alliance, said: “I’m humbled to be asked to speak at the CVS Inverclyde annual conference.
“We have a wonderfully vibrant and caring third sector here in Inverclyde that is excellently supported by CVS alongside the council and HSCP.
“In the last two years in particular we have seen many first-class examples of the public and voluntary sectors collaborating positively to support people in our communities during the Covid-19 pandemic and now with the launch of Inverclyde’s Warm Hand of Friendship initiative – a partnership between the council and CVS – to help the most vulnerable this winter in the face of the cost of living crisis.
“The conference will be an opportunity to share and celebrate the many success stories and also look to the future and how we can continue to support our communities and the individuals who deliver that support day in, day out, particularly during these challenging financial times.”
