Book Week Scotland 2022
Book Week Scotland runs from 14-20 November and Inverclyde Council's libraries service is again hosting a variety of free activities for children and adults throughout the week to celebrate all that is great about books and reading.
From storytelling for adults to Bookbug there is something for everyone.
People can pop into their local library to pick up a programme.
Events for adults:
- Monday 14 November (5-6.30pm). Join one of Scotland’s leading storytellers, Marion Kenny, and the CEO from Ardgowan Hospice, Graham Gardiner, at Greenock Central Library for stories and discussions around death, bereavement and grief.
- Tuesday 15 November (3-4pm & 5-6pm). Scottish poet, Katharine Macfarlane, is hosting two drop-in shared reading Open Book sessions at Central Library.
- Tuesday 15 November (2-3pm). Local storyteller Paul Bristow will share tales of Inverclyde at Port Glasgow Library.
- Thursday 17 November (5-6.30pm). Storyteller Gauri Rage will be popping into Gourock Library to tell Stories from Life.
For children:
Drop-in Bookbug sessions celebrating Scottish songs, rhymes and stories.
- Monday 14 November – Port Glasgow Library from 6-6.30pm and South West Library from 6-6.30pm.
- Tuesday 15 November – Inverkip Library, 1-1.30pm.
- Saturday 19 November – Central Library, 11.30am-noon.
- Saturday 19 November – Watt Institution, 10.15-10.45am.
Two of the adult events, Open Book Shared Reading and Stories from Life have been supported by EventScotland as part of the Year of Stories 2022.
Other events are supported by the Scottish Book Trust.
