Summer holiday hubs – apply now
A SUMMER of fun is in store for Inverclyde children during the school holidays.
The council is running two activity hubs at Port Glasgow Community Campus and Clydeview Academy aimed at working families on low incomes and places will be prioritised for children who are entitled to free school meals and clothing grants.
Sessions are free to attend and designed to support parents and carers to continue working during the holidays.
They will run from Monday 28 June until Friday 13 August 2021 for young people aged 5-18.

A packed programme of events has been organised to keep those in attendance occupied, including sports and physical activities, cooking and baking, creative arts and crafts, and outdoor play and adventures.
Lunch will also be provided for free.
Councillor Jim Clocherty, Inverclyde Council’s convener of education and communities, said: “The school holidays can be really challenging for many families, especially those on low incomes, and we want to ensure that they don’t get in the way of parents and carers working and earning.
“The hubs are part of the council’s efforts to tackle inequality and support residents with employment opportunities, as well as improving life chances of our children and young people.
“This will be a lifeline service for many working families and I encourage them to take advantage of this opportunity.”
Sessions will run from 8.45am-4.15pm at both Port Glasgow Community Campus and Clydeview Academy.
They are being delivered by Inverclyde Council with support from the Scottish Government and national organisation Children in Scotland.
The hubs service will allow children and young people to engage in a wide variety of activities and meet new friends in a fun and safe environment.
Applications are now being accepted and must be submitted before the Monday 14 June 2021 deadline.
