Christmas Cheer for Kilmacolm
Inverclyde Council is giving local businesses and festive shoppers a boost by suspending limited waiting restrictions in Kilmacolm on Saturdays in December.
On-street parking in Lochwinnoch Road, Port Glasgow Road, Bridge of Weir Road and Market Place is currently 30 minutes with no return allowed within an hour.
Environment & Regeneration Convener Councillor Michael McCormick said: “We were approached by local traders and the community council to see if we could make some changes to the parking arrangements in Kilmacolm. We have decided that for the four Saturdays in December we will suspend the limited waiting restrictions which are normally in place in the mornings. This will give local people and visitors to the village plenty of time to browse local businesses, enjoy some of the local hospitality on offer and immerse themselves in the Christmas spirit.”
Inverclyde Council is also consulting on proposals to change the permanent parking restrictions in place in Kilmacolm.
On-street parking would increase from 30 minutes to 2 hours with no return within 30 minutes Monday to Friday only.
Any responses to the proposals should be made to the Council by 9 December 2015. Full details can be found at www.inverclyd.gov.uk/tro
