DATE AND TIME – Sunday 5th March 2023 at 1pm

 

ORGANISATION - The Boys’ Brigade – Inverclyde & District Battalion

 

PROPOSED ROUTE - GOUROCK

The Procession will form on Park Terrace, Gourock and proceed to St John’s Church,

Gourock via Park Terrace,

Darroch Avenue, Broomberry Drive, Shore Street, Kempock Place and Bath Street.

The procession will then reform at Burgh Walk and will proceed to Adelaide Street via Burgh Walk and Bath Street. 

 

NO. OF PERSONS – Annual Founders Day Parade of the Boys’ Brigade

 

REASON – Annual Demonstration

 

DATE AND TIME – Saturday 22 April 2023 at 5.30pm

 

ORGANISATION – St George’s Royal Black Preceptory No.164, Provincial Grand

Black Chapter of Scotland

 

PROPOSED ROUTE – GREENOCK

The Procession will form at Britannia Orange Halls and proceed along Terrace Rd,

Regent St, Lyndoch St, Bank St, Dempster St, Mearns St, Wellington St, Bank St, Roxburgh St,

Regent St and return to Terrace Rd.

 

NO. OF PERSONS – Approx 50

 

REASON – Memorial Parade

 

DATE AND TIME – Sunday 14 May 2023 at 10.20am

 

ORGANISATION – 2nd Gourock Boys Brigade and 4th Gourock Guides Company

 

PROPOSED ROUTE – GOUROCK

The Procession will form at Binnie St and will proceed along John St, Shore St,

Pierhead, Kempock Place and Bath St to St John’s Church.  The procession will return

along Bath St, Kempock Place, Pierhead, Shore St, John St and Binnie St.

 

NO. OF PERSONS – Approx 80

 

REASON – to attend annual end of session youth service at St John’s Church

 

DATE AND TIME – Saturday 3 June 2023 at 8.45am

 

ORGANISATION – Greenock Murray Club Apprentice Boys of Derry

 

PROPOSED ROUTE – GREENOCK

The Procession will form at Terrace Rd and proceed along Regent St, Sir Michael St,

High St, West Stewart St, Jamaica St, West Blackhall St, Grey Pl, Hood St, onto Clarence St

where the procession will terminate.  The Procession will then return along Broomhill St,

Prospecthill St, Ann St, Dempster St, Bank St, Roxburgh St, Regent St onto Terrace Rd.

REASON – Annual Parade

 

DATE AND TIME – Saturday 17 June 2023 at 4pm

 

ORGANISATION – Gourock Defenders of the Faith LOL 345

 

PROPOSED ROUTE – GOUROCK

The Procession will form at Darroch Car Park and proceed along Drumshantie Rd,

Kirn Dr, Arran Rd, MacMillan Dr, Skye Crescent, Iona Crescent, Bute St, Arran Rd,

Tower Dr, Drumshantie Rd and back to Darroch Car Park

 

NO. OF PERSONS – Approx 50-60

 

REASON – Annual Parade

 

DATE AND TIME – Saturday 24 June 2023 at 8.15am with return at 5pm

 

ORGANISATION – Orange and Purple District Lodge No.39

 

PROPOSED ROUTE – GREENOCK

The Procession will form at Britannia Orange Halls on Terrace Rd and will proceed

along Regent St, Sir Michael St, High St, West Stewart St, Jamaica St, West Blackhall St,

Grey Pl, Hood St and onto Clarence St where the procession will terminate.  On the return,

the Procession will form at Broomhill St and proceed along Prospecthill St, Ann St, Dempster St,

Bank St, Roxburgh St, Regent St to Terrace Rd.

AUGUST TO DECEMBER 2023 

DATE AND TIME – Saturday 12 August 2023 at 8.45am

 

ORGANISATION – Royal Black District Chapter No. 2 Provincial Grand

Black Chapter of Scotland

 

PROPOSED ROUTE – PORT GLASGOW

The Procession will form at Boglestone Avenue and proceed along Kilmacolm Rd, Clune Brae,

Glasgow Rd, Caledonia St, and will disperse at Robert St.

 

NO. OF PERSONS – Approx 60

 

REASON – Annual Demonstration 

 

DATE AND TIME – Sunday 20th August 2023 at 8.30am

 

ORGANISATION – Inverclyde Leisure

 

PROPOSED ROUTE – GOUROCK

The Procession will form at Gourock Outdoor Swimming Pool, Albert Rd and will proceed

along Albert Rd, Ashton Rd and Cloch Rd before turning at the Cloch Rd/Inverkip Rd Roundabout

and returning to the swimming pool.  

 

NO. OF PERSONS – Approx 120

 

REASON – Triathlon and Aquathlon   

 

DATE AND TIME – Sunday 10 September 2023 at 8.00am

 

ORGANISATION – Inverclyde Leisure

 

PROPOSED ROUTE – KILMACOLM

The procession will start at Birkmyre Park and will proceed along Pacemuir Road,

Florence Drive, left onto Knockbuckle Road, along Knockbuckle Road, turning left into

Netherwood Road (for 3k event). For 10k and half marathon, the procession will then turn right

into Netherwood Road, right onto N75 cycle path, along the cycle path to the turning point. 

The procession will return along the exact same route and will finish at Birkmyre Park.  

 

NO. OF PERSONS – Approx 500-600.

 

REASON – Annual Kilmacolm Running Festival (3k, 10k and Half Marathon)   

 

DATE AND TIME – Sunday 17 September 2023 at 12.30pm

 

ORGANISATION – N/A – Charity Walk 

 

PROPOSED ROUTE – GOUROCK AND INVERKIP

The Procession will form at Kempock St, Gourock and will proceed along Albert Road,

Cloch Road in Gourock and onto Inverkip Road and Harbourside Inverkip

 

NO. OF PERSONS – Approx 300

 

REASON – Sponsored Walk for breast cancer care and Ardgowan Hospice.   

 

DATE AND TIME – Saturday 23 September 2023 at 12pm

 

ORGANISATION – Scottish Recovery Consortium

 

PROPOSED ROUTE – GREENOCK

The Procession will form at Battery Park, Greenock and proceed along Eldon Street,

Madeira Street, Newark Street, Eldon Street and back to Battery Park.

 

NO. OF PERSONS – Approx 3000

 

REASON – Public awareness  

 

DATE AND TIME – Sunday 1 October 2023 at 9.30am

 

ORGANISATION – 3rd Gourock Boys Brigade

 

PROPOSED ROUTE – GOUROCK

The procession will start at Binnie St at the junction with McCallum Crescent

and will proceed along McCallum Crescent, Broomberry Dr, King St, Royal St and will

disperse in front of Old Gourock and Ashton Parish Church.  The procession will then

return by assembling at Binnie St at the junction with John St and will proceed along

John St and Royal St before dispersing at Davidson Dr.

 

NO. OF PERSONS – Approx 150.  

 

REASON – Start of Session Parade

DATE AND TIME – Sunday 8 October 2023 at 10.20am

 

ORGANISATION – 2nd Gourock Boys Brigade and 4th Gourock Guides Company

 

PROPOSED ROUTE – GOUROCK

The procession will start at Binnie St and proceed along John St, Shore St,

Pierhead, Kempock St, Bath St, to St John’s Church.  The procession will return

along the same route.

REASON – Annual Start of Session Youth Service at St John’s Church

DATE AND TIME – Sunday 29 October 2023 at 5pm

 

ORGANISATION – YMI Wheres the One & Oi Musica Galoshans Street Parade

 

PROPOSED ROUTE – GREENOCK

The procession will start at the Ginger the Horse statue on Cathcart St and will

proceed down Cathcart St to Cathcart Sq to the performance at the Mid Kirk steps.

 

NO. OF PERSONS – Approx 500  

 

REASON – Galoshans Festival 2023  

DATE AND TIME – Sunday 12 November 2023 at 10.15am

 

ORGANISATION – 3rd Gourock Boys Brigade

 

PROPOSED ROUTE – GOUROCK

The procession will start at Binnie St at the junction with McCallum Crescent

and will proceed along McCallum Crescent, Broomberry Dr, King St, Royal St

and will disperse in front of Old Gourock and Ashton Parish Church.  On the return,

the procession will join the community parade before dispersal at Binnie St.

NO. OF PERSONS – Approx 120.  

REASON – Remembrance parade

DATE AND TIME – Sunday 12 November 2023 at 12pm

 

ORGANISATION – Greenock Sea Cadets

 

PROPOSED ROUTE – GREENOCK

The procession will start at Baker St and proceed along Regent St,

Bakers Brae, Mearns St and onto Shaw Place to join the main procession.

 

NO. OF PERSONS – Approx 60.  

 

REASON – Remembrance Sunday

DATE AND TIME – Sunday 12 November 2023 at 12.30pm

 

ORGANISATION – Parade Commander Greenock - Greenock Sea Cadets

 

PROPOSED ROUTE – GREENOCK

The procession will start at Shaw Place and proceed onto Trafalgar St,

Regent St into the Wellpark to the cenotaph. The procession will return by

taking the same route in reverse before dispersal.  

 

NO. OF PERSONS – Approx 400.   

 

REASON – Remembrance Sunday

DATE AND TIME – Sunday 12 November 2023 at 11.45am

 

ORGANISATION – Gourock Ex-Servicemen’s Club

 

PROPOSED ROUTE – GOUROCK

The procession will start at Royal St and will proceed on John St, Royal St,

Shore St, Kempock St to the cenotaph and will return along Kempock St, Shore St

and will disperse on Chalmers Road.

 

NO. OF PERSONS – Approx 150.  

 

REASON – Remembrance Sunday

 

DATE AND TIME – Sunday 12 November 2023 at 12.30pm

 

ORGANISATION – St Colmba’s School, Kilmacolm  

 

PROPOSED ROUTE – PORT GLASGOW

The procession will start at Port Glasgow Civic Sq and will proceed onto

Princes St, John Wood St, Fore St and to the cenotaph.  The Procession

will return along Fore St and Scarlow St and will disperse at the Civic Sq.

 

NO. OF PERSONS – Approx 130.  

 

REASON – Remembrance Sunday

DATE AND TIME – Sunday 12 November 2023 at 12pm

 

ORGANISATION – 85th Greenock & District Scout Group

(Inverkip & Wemyss Bay) and 1st Inverkip Guides

 

PROPOSED ROUTE – INVERKIP

The procession will leave from Inverkip Church Hall and will proceed

down Langhouse Rd,

proceeding along Main St through the village itself to the south end

of the village.

The procession will cross the A78 using the crossing point at the south

exit from the

village and onto the footpath which runs alongside the Marina to the war

memorial at Inverkip Beach. 

The procession will return along the same route.

ORGANISATION – 2nd Gourock Boys Brigade and 4th Gourock Guides

 

PROPOSED ROUTE – GOUROCK

The procession will leave Binnie St at the BT Building and proceed to John St,

left down to Shore St,left to Pierhead,left round Kempock Place , left onto Bath Street

and up to St.John’s Church. The procession will return by proceeding from Bath Street to

Kempock Place to await arrival of main parade to Ashton War Memorial for 12.15pm wreath

laying ceremony. The procession will then proceed along Kempock St, Pierhead,Shore Street ,

John Street and turning right back into Binnie Street for dismissal at the BT Building

ORGANISATION – 71st Ayrshire Scout Group (Skelmorlie) 

 

PROPOSED ROUTE – WEMYSS BAY

The procession will leave from the Skelmorlie and

Wemyss Bay parish church (Skelmorlie) and proceed along the A78 to the war memorial

at Wemyss Bay station

 

NO. OF PERSONS – Approx 50

ORGANISATION – 42nd Greenock and District, 1st Kilmacolm Scout Group/

Kilmacolm Girlguiding Association 

 

PROPOSED ROUTE – KILMACOLM 

The procession will start at Birkmyre Park and proceed along Knockbuckle Rd, turning 

left into Lochwinnoch Rd, right onto Duchal Rd and proceeding to St Columba's Church on

Duchal Rd
