Public Charitable Collection
Permission is required from the Local Authority in whose area you propose to hold a Public Charitable Collection.
A Public Charitable Collection is a collection taken in a public place and can be a house to house collection or a street collection for charitable purposes.
Permission is not required for a collection which takes place during a public meeting or an unattended fixed receptacle in a public place.
Certain conditions have to be complied with and a Return Form must be completed after the collection takes place providing information on the monies raised.
