PVG and Disclosure Checks
Vetting for Employees
Guidance notes on the full details of the scheme and the associated costs/payment methods are also attached to the documents section of this page. All disclosure checks are obtained via Disclosure Scotland. If you are the successful candidate you will be required to pay the cost of the disclosure check(s) required for your post. Please ensure that you keep Disclosure Scotland up to date with any changes to your personal details.
Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme
The PVG scheme is the Scottish vetting and barring scheme which replaced Enhanced Disclosure Scotland for those employees working with vulnerable groups such as children and protected adults. PVG scheme membership is for life and the scheme member will present a membership certificate to prospective employers at interview.
Disclosure Scotland Check
If you are successful for a post in the administration of the law or in certain other sensitive areas and professions, you will be required to undergo a standard Police Act Disclosure Check. This check will provide us with details of ALL convictions you may have, both spent and unspent.
For any role that does not require the above checks a criminal convictions form will be required.
Criminal Convictions
The policy on the recruitment of ex-offenders is available to download. Having a criminal record will not necessarily debar you from working with us. It will depend on the nature of the position, together with the circumstances and background of the offence(s).
