Invite to Interview
Information/Documentation Required at Interview for all candidates
Proof of Right to Work in the UK
As Inverclyde Council complies fully with legislation requirements in relation to the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006, we require that all candidates bring with them to interview proof of their right to work in the UK. In most cases this will be a valid passport – your passport will be checked at interview and a copy taken when you become the preferred candidate. If you are unable to provide a passport, details of other acceptable proof can be found via the UK Visas and Immigration Right to Work Checklist, which is linked on the side of this page.
Certificates/Essential Qualifications/Membership of Professional Bodies (e.g. SSSC, GTCS or HCPC)
Professional Bodies
Certain posts within Education and Social Care require you to be registered with either the General Teaching Council Scotland (GTCS), the Scottish Social Services Commission (SSSC) or the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
If you are offered a job you will be asked to provide evidence of your registration, please also refer to the person specification for the post to check the essential qualifications/certificates required for this post, and also bring them with you on the day. These documents will be verified at your interview. Further information can be found in the external links on this page. Remember it is your responsibility to ensure that you have the appropriate registration for the job you are applying for and you maintain this registration.
Qualifications
If you are required to hold certain qualifications in order to undertake the job for which you have applied you will be asked to provide evidence of these either at your interview, or once a job offer has been made.
If you have gained your qualifications from overseas, and want to see how they compare to Scottish qualification levels, further advice can be obtained from the UK ENIC (UK National Information Centre for the recognition and evaluation of international qualifications and skills) and the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA).
