School Estate Management
More information
The school estate management plan has been produced in accordance with the requirements of the Scottish Government. It set the Council’s vision for renewal of the school estate and the proposals to provide schools that will meet the educational needs of our children, young people and the wider community.
The current Inverclyde school estate management plan (SEMP) will be delivered by 2027. During the period of the strategy to date the rationalisation of provision across the primary, secondary and assisted support needs sectors has seen a net reduction of 10 primary schools and 2 secondary schools.
Information detailing the current developments of the school estate programme is included within the regular capital programme progress reports to the Education & Communities Committee.
The current edition of the school estate management plan (2013) can be downloaded at the link under Documents on this page. This is the fourth edition of the plan which is produced every three years. It details how the school estate management plan contributes to the Council’s corporate objectives and outcomes and charts the progress which has been made in modernising the estate over the past 10 years in addition to detailing proposed future projects.
