Enterprising, teaching and learning
What is Enterprise Education?
In simple terms it is a culture that is being embedded across all stages of our educational establishments with all pupils 3-18. This creates and develops a ‘can-do, will-do, attitude in all young people and recognises that every child has protential. Enterprising, Teaching and learning helps to identify and nurture their natural ability to be enterprising and helps prepare them for a rapidly changing world. Many of the jobs they will do when they leave school do not yet exist and they will probably have several jobs during their lifetime. They need to have the skills and attitudes to cope with an unpredictable future, to be able to deal with setbacks and disappointments in a positive way, and to continue to learn for the rest of their lives
Many of the interventions over the last five years were primarily introduced to raise self- esteem, encourage teamwork and creative thinking, introduce young people to the business world and explore their future role in it. We must continue to develop an exciting and innovative curriculum for all our young people in our schools to ensure they are “Determined to Succeed”. The contribution of enterprise in education makes to the education of children and young people can enhance their life chances and choices. It can help them to become successful learners, confident individuals, responsible citizens and effective contributors to society and at work, with a clear understanding of their roles in the world.
