Community Council Elections 2024

Community Councils are the third tier of government, bridging the gap between communities, council and national governments, and play an important role in towns and villages across Scotland.

Nominations were open for the election of Community Councillors in the Inverclyde Community Council Elections 2024 until 4pm on 7 Febraury 2024. The following Community Councils were established or re-established in these Elections:

  • Gourock Community Council; 
  • Greenock East  Community Council;
  • Greenock South West Community Council;
  • Greenock West and Cardwell Bay Community Council;
  • Inverkip and Wemyss Bay Community Council;
  • Kilmacolm & Quarrier's Village Community Council; 
  • Larkfield, Braeside and Branchton Community Council;
  • Port Glasgow East Community Council; and
  • Port Glasgow West Community Council.

The following Community Councils were not established as there were not enough nominations received:

  • Greenock Central Community Council; and
  • Holefarm and Cowdenknowes Community Council.
