To ensure Inverclyde Libraries are autism-accessible, we now have a range of sensory resources and equipment to support and assist people with autism. Please ask staff for details.
Au-some Afternoons!
Come along to our autism-friendly afternoons at Greenock Central Library on the last Wednesday of every month.
Au-some Library Time 2.30pm - 4:30pm
Access to books, computers and eResources. For those with autism or additional support needs we also have:
- Reduced noise
- Informed & understanding staff
- Autism, BSL and Makaton book collections
- Access to sensory resources and stress-relieving equipment
- Colour-coded library floor plan
- Quiet activity tables
- Staff-led Open Book shared reading session 2.30pm-3.30pm (Age 16+)
Au-some Bookbug Sessions at Greenock Central Library
As part of our autism-friendly afternoons, Greenock Central Library will be holding free story, song and rhyme sessions with Makaton signing for babies, toddlers and pre-school children and their families on the last Wednesday of every month at 1.30pm. (Doors open 1.15pm)
