Community Work
Inverclyde Council has dedicated Community Workers within the Community Learning and Development Service. They assist local communities to organise around short term issues and longer term development projects.
The focus is on developing sustainable communities and reducing inequalities by supporting individuals and community groups to build their skills and experience, increase opportunities and enhance their involvement in the decisions that affect them.
The team work to empower local people to have their say in how things are run and support communities to play a part in managing local facilities and services.
They also offer expertise to support groups to devise strategic responses to key policy initiatives, opportunities and local defined issues, and to develop effective community engagement, in order to ensure genuine community influence.
