Funeral Support Payment
Funeral Support Payment helps pay for funeral costs if you live in Scotland. This payment can be used towards to funeral costs for a baby, child or adult.
It does not usually cover the full cost of the funeral but it should help pay for some costs. It can be paid either to you or directly to the funeral director who is helping you plan the funeral.
Only one person can receive the Funeral Support Payment for the funeral.
How to Apply:
You can apply by:
- completing an online application form on www.mygov.scot/benefits
- filling in a paper form - you can get a paper form on www.mygov.scot/benefits. You can also ask for a paper form with a prepaid envelope by phone
- phone, by calling Social Security Scotland free on 0800 182 2222, Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm.
