Do I need Planning Permission?
All development requires planning permission, but some development which is considered to be of a minor, non-contentious nature benefits from ‘permitted development rights’, meaning that it may be done without requiring a planning application to be submitted.
The links on this page to the Scottish Government website provide access to the regulations that detail ‘permitted development rights’ and to flowcharts for typical householder works that provide guidance to assist in deciding if planning permission is required.
