Contacting the Building Standards Team

General Enquiries

For any Building Standards related enquiries please call the Customer Contact Centre on 01475 717171 and ask to speak to a member of the Building Standards team. Please note that as our Building Standards Officers' roles includes carrying out site inspections, it may be required to leave a message or arrange an alternative time to discuss your enquiry if our Building Standards Officers are unavailable at the time of your call. Alternatively, the Building Standards team can be contacted via email on building.standards@inverclyde.gov.uk.

Walk-in Advice

The Council has now adopted a hybrid approach to working for all staff which includes a balance of home and office based working. Our Building Standards Officers may also be out on site inspections or busy in meetings with customers or colleagues. Walk-in advice may be provided without appointment where an officer is free to discuss, however we strongly recommend contacting us to schedule a pre-arranged meeting, video call or telephone call where a customer would like advice from the Building Standards Team. Where no appointment is scheduled, advice will only be provided for walk in visits when a Building Standards Officer is free.

Advice on your application

If you require assistance with regard to an application that has been approved or is currently going through the warrant vetting process, the case officer for your application can be contacted using the contact details listed on the original acknowledgement letter issued when the application was validated. Alternatively, the Building Standards team can be contacted via email on building.standards@inverclyde.gov.uk.
