Care at Home jobs available at Walk In Wednesdays

People looking for a rewarding career that makes a real difference to people’s lives are being given the chance to join Inverclyde’s Care at Home team.

The service has lined up a series of Walk In Wednesdays events where people interested in a career in social care can find out more about available roles and, where the situation permits, can even be interviewed and offered a job on the same day.

Experience of working in social care is welcome, but not mandatory. What is important is a positive, reliable, helpful attitude and a friendly personality.

Inverclyde’s Care at Home service is delivered 365 days a year and supports individuals to live as independently as possible at home.

Staff help with daily living tasks including meal preparation, medication prompts, dressing and personal care.

A range of shifts and contracts are available, ranging from sessional hours to 35 hours per week, there is access to training and career progression is encouraged.

The full-time salary ranges from £27,510 to £29,555 (hourly rates £14.26 - £15.32) with up to 34 days annual leave (depending on length of service) as well as seven public holidays plus access to the Local Government Pension Scheme and the Scot West Credit Union.

Walk In Wednesdays start on January 29 2025 and will run between 9.30am and 3pm at the Hillend Centre, 2 East Crawford Street, Greenock PA15 2BT. They will continue on April 30, July 30 and October 29 2025.
