New chair of Integrated Joint Board appointed
A new chair of Inverclyde’s Integrated Joint Board (IJB) has been appointed following the resignation of Councillor Robert Moran.
Councillor Moran served as chair since June 2023 but stepped down following his appointment as Leader of Inverclyde Council in December 2024.
Former vice-chair of the IJB, David Gould has now been appointed as chair. Councillor Francesca Brennan will take up the vice-chair role.
As a result of the appointment, David Gould has stepped down as chair of the Inverclyde IJB Audit Committee. That role will now be filled by Councillor Lynne Quinn, with Dr Rebecca Metcalfe serving as vice-chair.
David Gould said: “I am delighted to become the chair of Inverclyde IJB.
“Councillor Moran has left big shoes to fill and did an excellent job steering the IJB through some challenging times, most recently securing agreement for a two-year budget to save £5.2million for Inverclyde Health and Social Care Partnership.
“The recently agreed Inverclyde HSCP Strategic Partnership Plan gives us clear plans for the future. The IJB has an important role to play in the health and wellbeing of the people of Inverclyde and I’m looking forward to being part of that.”
A chartered accountant by trade, David Gould is also vice-chair of NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde health board.
Inverclyde Integrated Joint Board is the organisation which manages Inverclyde Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP). It is a separate legal body with members from Inverclyde Council and NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde health board. It is a separate legal entity and has full autonomy and capacity to act on its own behalf. It is responsible for the planning and operational management of the HSCP.
