Digital skills classes restarting

From Tuesday 2 May 2023 the council's libraries service is offering a selection of digital skills sessions for absolute beginners through to those who have some skills but would like to learn more.

Sessions cover either foundation skills, essential skills, or digital skills for life in a digital world using either a computer or attendees’ own device depending on the session chosen.

On offer across five library branches are:

Computer-based 'Bring I.T. On' sessions for those who already have basic skills but want to learn more and are led by experienced, knowledgeable staff. Each session lasts for an hour and needs to be pre-booked.

'Let’s Start I.T.' classes for those with little or no experience with digital activities. These are computer based but sessions do not need to be booked and are run on a drop-in basis. They last for an hour (except for Greenock Central which runs for 45 minutes).

'Make I.T. Real' sessions led by library staff for those with their own device who wish to build on existing skills for life. These sessions run for an hour and need to be pre-booked.

All of the sessions above will run over five weeks from 2 May until 2 June. Days and times vary depending on branch from which session runs.

Device Advice sessions are ongoing throughout the year and are half-hour sessions for those with their own device and who want to learn a specific basic I.T. skill or troubleshoot a specific I.T. issue. These sessions need to be pre-booked.

For further details about any sessions or to register please contact library.central@inverclyde.gov.uk or call 01475 712323.

Please note numbers are limited so please book early.
