Teaching staff strike action update

The SSTA and NASUWT teaching unions have announced their intention to strike on Wednesday 7 December 2022.

This strike will not affect Early Years Establishments, Primary Schools and Primary ASN provision, which will remain open as normal on that day.

There will be some disruption to Secondary Schools and ASN provision. Schools will be in touch directly with parents and carers with specific details but it is expected that the following arrangements will be in place:

 

Craigmarloch School

Closed to all pupils in S4, S5, S6 and closure for one secondary class.  Open to primary pupils and open to most of S1, S2 and S3 – school will be in touch with specific details.

Clydeview Academy

Open to S4, S5 and S6 pupils only.  Closed to S1, S2 and S3.

Inverclyde Academy

Open to S4, S5 and S6 pupils only.  Closed to S1, S2 and S3.

Notre Dame High School

Fully open (including Stella Maris)

Port Glasgow High School

Open to S4, S5 and S6 pupils only.  Closed to S1, S2 and S3.

St. Columba’s High School

Fully open.

St. Stephen’s High School

Open to S4, S5 and S6 pupils only.  Closed to S1, S2 and S3.

Lomond View

Fully open.

 

The EIS, the largest teaching union in Inverclyde, has also given notice of their intention to strike in Inverclyde on the following days:

  • Tuesday 10 January 2023 in Primary and Special Schools and Wednesday 11 January 2023 in Secondary Schools. 
  • Monday 6 February 2023 for all schools.
