As part of this process, the Council is hosting a public information event at the current St Ninian’s Primary School on Tuesday 25 October 2016, between 18.30 and 20.30.
Members of the public will be able to view the design proposals, whilst Council officers and the design team will be available on the night to discuss and provide further information.
Earlier this year, the Education & Communities Committee unanimously supported the proposals to accelerate school estate investment requirements before 2020, which include a new building for St Ninian’s Primary in Gourock instead of a refurbishment.
The new St Ninian’s Primary School will be built on blaes pitches, at the other side of the new Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA) from the existing school, between Staff Street, Drumshantie Road and Kirn Drive in Gourock.
Inverclyde Council’s Education & Communities Convener Councillor Terry Loughran said: “This is the start of another exciting project which will have a positive impact on our local children for years to come. In Inverclyde we have invested over £200 million in new and refurbished schools and I would encourage everyone interested to come along on Tuesday 25 October to see the plans and meet the team.”
