Physiotherapy
Aim of Service
The MSK Physiotherapy service aims to provide the interventions needed to support people to manage their MSK conditions. This will encompass assessment and treatment, management and advice of wider health issues, managing and supporting people to return to their work or meaningful activities.
Description of the Service
The MSK Physiotherapy Service offers assessment, advice and treatment for adult patients who are experiencing symptoms arising from muscle, joint or spinal problems.
The Physiotherapist will work with you towards agreed goals using a self management approach to minimise your symptoms and maximise your function.
How to access the service
Your doctor can refer you into the service. When your doctor makes a referral electronically it is received immediately into the physiotherapy service with all the necessary information.
Alternatively you can refer yourself by completing a self referral form and sending it or delivering it to the physiotherapy department. There is a post box outside the department for referral forms when the department is closed.
The forms are available at GP surgeries, the physiotherapy departments and are also available for printing from the NHS MSK physiotherapy website (see under External links on this page).
