What about Tenancy Standards?
The tenancy management standards are assessed by Inverclyde Council’s Safer & Inclusive Communities, these standards make sure that the owner of an HMO treats their tenants fairly and within the limits of the law. The owner of an HMO is expected to make sure that they issue written tenancy agreements, also known as a lease or missive, and maintain accurate records with regards to rent and occupancy records. The written agreement will specify the responsibilities of both the owner and the tenants with regards to repairs, security, anti-social behaviour, access, pets, liability for gas/phone/electricity bills and the conditions and timescales for ending a tenancy.
