How do I become a member of the children’s panel?
Inverclyde Council normally runs an annual autumn campaign to encourage new people to join the Children’s Panel. Open evenings are held in late September/early October.
Anyone thinking of joining the panel should attend the open evenings, as these are attended by serving panel members who are able to give a realistic picture of panel membership. Application forms for the panel are also ONLY available at the opening evenings.
All applicants are interviewed. If you are then selected for a place, you will undergo pre-service training in the New Year, before joining the panel in May. Any initial appointment normally lasts for three years.
