How are Grave Rights awarded?
Grave rights are awarded for a period of 100 years. Please keep the grave deeds safe, as they are evidence of your Right of Burial. Grave Rights ensure that any further burial must be of the grave owner or authorised by the owner. It is important to note that you have only bought the Right to Burial - you have not bought the land. The land remains in the ownership of Inverclyde Council.
