Early years at the Library
At Inverclyde Libraries we love when colleagues and children from Early Years establishments come to visit us at the library!
From drop-in visits to use our toys and borrow books to scheduled song and story times led by library staff we know there’s nothing better than the sound of children having fun at the library!
Explorer Parties
In April each year we host Explorer Parties where 3-5 year olds from your centre will be invited to go on an adventure singing lots of songs and sharing stories along the way! These sessions are designed to link with the Scottish Book Trust Explorer Bag gifting – look out for invites in March.
Early Years Membership
Inverclyde Libraries offers membership cards for Early Years Centres and Nurseries based in Inverclyde. These entitle establishments to borrow a maximum of 30 items for up to 6 weeks at a time and are a great way to introduce new books to your children or to borrow a group of titles linked to a specific topic. Application forms can be downloaded via the link in the Documents section of this page and can be returned to your local library. Applications should be completed by the Head of Centre.
Community Outreach
If you are promoting reading, literacy or library membership at your centre or nursery it may be possible for a member of library staff to visit and support you with this activity. Please just get in touch on the number below.
Bookbug Session Leader Training
Inverclyde Libraries delivers Bookbug Session Leader Training annually. The date will be advertised well in advance. For details of all other Bookbug training please visit the Scottish Book Trust website using the link in the Other Websites section of this page.
