Overview of the Invergrow Project

As part of the UK Government funding, Inverclyde Council has secured funding for the Invergrow project.

The aims of the Invergrow project are to:

  • Increase and support community volunteers in relation to food growing in Inverclyde.
  • Support the development of small and large food growing spaces.

The Invergrow project will support the workings of the Inverclyde Food Network and help implement priorities contained in the Inverclyde Food Growing Strategy.

  • Priority 1 – Build capacity within communities to ensure they have the skills and knowledge to take part in food growing.
  • Priority 2 – Create strong partnership working between communities, the Council and housing associations.
  • Priority 3 – Ensure communities have the resources they need to be able to take part in food growing.
  • Priority 4 – Contribute towards a reduction in poverty through strong partnership working.        

Invergrow Resource Fund

The Invergrow project is happy to announce the launch of a new resource fund, this will be utilised to support growing space volunteers across Inverclyde. This fund offers a grant ranging from £1,000 to £3,000 for community groups to provide essential resources to volunteers to support food growing. Applicants will be asked to provide evidence of the impact the resources will have on their growing space and how they will further enhance the volunteers’ growing experience.

Timeframe

The Invergrow Grant Fund window will open on Wednesday 22 January 2025 and close on Wednesday 19 February 2025 at 5.30pm.
