War Memorials

Inverclyde Council maintains war memorials in each of the towns and villages in the district.  There are eleven memorials in total and they can be found at the following locations:

Kilmacolm

Lochwinnoch Road

"Let succeeding generations read with reverence the honoured names of Kilmacolm's brave sons who fell in the Great War. 1914-1919."

Port Glasgow

Robert Street (Wall Plaque at No. 5)

Greenock Cemetery (Blitz Memorial), South Street

Lyle Hill (Cross of Lorraine)

"This monument is dedicated to the memory of the sailors of the Free French Naval Forces who sailed from Greenock in the years 1940-1945 and gave their lives in the Battle of The Atlantic for the liberation of France and the success of the allied cause"
