Community Grants Fund
Following the recent review of Grants to Voluntary Organisations, the Education & Communities Committee has approved changes to the grant process.
We have moved towards a model of combining all funding streams into one ‘Community Grants Fund’. The purpose of the Community Grants Fund is to enable the Council to provide financial support to community, sports and voluntary organisations within Inverclyde. Should your organisation wish to make an application you will now need to specify on the paperwork how much funding you are requesting against the three categories:
- Facilities/Core Costs;
- Project Costs;
- Fee Waivers
You will also need to specify if and how the awarding of a grant would contribute to and benefit the wider community, in line with our local priorities of: empowered people; working people; healthy people and places; a supportive place and a thriving place.
The capping of grants at £10K for all three categories also means that there is the potential for more groups to access funding from the Council.
Organisations are required to register with the Council when they apply. This is done using the registration/application form available to download on this page. Guidance notes are also available to assist applicants decide if the fund is appropriate for them and to help them register and apply. You can also request the documents by email or phone.
Round 2 of the Community Grants Fund 2024/25 is now open to applications, Tuesday 10 December 2024.
With a balance of approximately £6,000 remaining for Round 2, priority will be given to groups who did not apply for funding in the previous round to ensure support, within this financial year, is given to as many applicants as possible across Inverclyde.
Closing date for applications is 12noon, Monday 20 January 2025.
