Local Employability Partnership (LEP)

Inverclyde’s Local Employability Partnership is the strategic employability partnership in Inverclyde.  It supports the implementation of local and national employability policy, making best use of resources available at any given time, to enable the delivery of a range of employability services to an all age client group, with a focus on those who have particular barriers to employment.

Representatives from key partners contribute to LEP meetings to shape and influence employability services.  The partners are:-

DWP (Jobcentre Plus)

Skills Development Scotland (SDS)

West College Scotland

Inverclyde Chamber of Commerce

Inverclyde CVS (third sector interface)

Inverclyde Health & Social Care Partnership (HSCP)

Inverclyde Council Departments – Anti-Poverty; Community Learning & Development; Education; More Choices More Chances; Employability.

The LEP currently meets every 8 weeks to review progress of the 3 year Employability Delivery Plan (2022-25), available in the Documents Section of this page.  In addition, the LEP looks at the longer term, including understanding the economic landscape, what the national/regional/local priorities are across all provision (employability/training/FE/HE/DWP), emerging funding sources and more opportunities for collaborative working with key employers, including NHS.

The LEP endorses the utilisation of the annual Scottish Government NOLB funding, ensuring there is no duplication with other funding available across the partnership while maximising a mixed economy of provision.  Information on NOLB funding can be found here: www.inverclyde.gov.uk/business-and-trade/employability-skills/no-one-left-behind .

Enquiries regarding the LEP can be directed to employabilityandskills@inverclyde.gov.uk , or to Charlene Elliott (charlene.elliott@cvsinverclyde.org.uk ) if relating to a third sector enquiry.
