Job Start Payment
Young people starting work may be entitled to a Job Start Payment. The one-off payment of £294.70 or £471.50 if the person is the main carer of any children is provided by Social Secutiry Scotland for people aged 16-24 and care leavers up to age 25 to help with the costs of starting a new job after being unemployed.
