Application for Taxi Licence: Alexander
Sorrell and Patricia McGarva |

|
|
|
There was
submitted a report by the Head of Legal and Administration advising that Mr
Sorrell and Ms McGarva had omitted to make timeous application for their
Licence to be renewed before it expired but it had been dealt with using the
procedure for the exercise of powers delegated to the Chief Executive for use
between Committees and it had been agreed to authorise the grant of a Taxi
Licence to Mr Sorrell and Ms McGarva. |

Provision of Wheelchair Accessible Taxis
Within Inverclyde |

|
|
|
There was
submitted a report by the Head of Legal and Administration on the provision
of wheelchair accessible taxis within Inverclyde advising of the result of the
consultation process which had been carried out at the Board’s request at the
previous meeting. |

|
Decided:
that consideration
of the report be continued to the next meeting of the Board to allow time for
receipt of representations. |
|
|
|
|
|
It was agreed in terms of Section 50(A)(4)
of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973 as amended that the public and
press be excluded from the meeting during consideration of the following
items on the grounds that the business involved the likely disclosure of
exempt information as defined in Paragraph 6 of Part I of Schedule 7(A) of
the Act. |

Application for Renewal of
Street Trader’s Licence: John Rodgers |

|
There was submitted a report by the Head of Legal & Administration
on an application for a Street Trader’s Licence by Mr John Rodgers following
an objection by Mr John Rasmussen on the grounds that Mr Rodgers was trading
within 150m of Mr Rasmussen’s premises in contravention of Condition 2
attached to Street Trader’s Licences which prohibits trading within 150m as
the crow flies of any shop or building in which are sold or offered for sale
any goods or articles or services of the same or similar class in description
as those to be sold or offered for sale by the Licenceholder. The Chief Constable had submitted an
observation on the same grounds. The
Board heard Mr Rodgers and Constable Gailey. |

Decided: that the application be granted subject
to Condition 2 being modified to 136.5m due to the physical restrictions of
the street. |
|
|

|
There was submitted a report by the Head of Legal and Administration
on an application for a Taxi Licence by Mr Graeme McShane following an
objection by the Lower Clyde Taxi Owners Association. On 10 October 2007 the Board had decided to
continue the matter to allow for further consultation. |

meeting of the Board to be held on 16 January 2008. |
