Chair:  Councillor Fyfe presided.

In attendance:  Depute Chief Executive and Mr A Wilson (for Head of Personnel Services).

The following paragraphs are submitted for information only, having been dealt with under the powers delegated to the Sub-Committee.

It was agreed in terms of Section 50(A)(4) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973 as amended, that the public and press be excluded from the meeting for the following item on the grounds that the business involved the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in Paragraph 1 of Part I of Schedule 7(A) of the Act.

Appointment of Head of Economic Development Service

The Sub-Committee interviewed the following six candidates:

1.       Irene Bell, Monitoring Evaluation Research Officer, Inverclyde Council;

2.       William Gibson, Business Development Manager, Renfrewshire Council;

3.       Colin Grainger, Assistant Co-ordinator/BNSF Officer, Inverclyde Regeneration Partnership;

4.       Rowena Hall, Economic Development Officer (Physical), Inverclyde Council;

5.       Stuart Jamieson, Economic Development Officer (Property), Inverclyde Council;

6.       Brian Patterson, Manager - Social Economy and Europe, Renfrewshire Council.

Decided:  to appoint Mr Stuart Jamieson to the post of Head of Economic Development Service.
