   686      EDUCATION CAPITAL BUILDING PROGRAMME 1998/99 - UPDATE                                          686

 

SUBMITTED:  Report dated 26 June 1998 by the Director of Education Services on the present position with regard to the Education Capital Building Programme 1998/99 and setting out options for utilisation of the funding totalling £527,000 which had been allocated over the 3 years from 1997-2000 to allow


the relocation of King's Glen Primary School within refurbished and extended accommodation at the Blairmore Centre and St Kenneth's Primary School.  It was noted that the Committee at its meeting on 2 June 1998 (para 609) had agreed that this proposal be not implemented.

DECIDED:

(a)  That the Committee note the allocation of £3,369,000 agreed by the Policy and Strategy Committee over the next 3 years to allow completion of the works at Port Glasgow High School, the replacement of Gourock Primary School with a new building and further enhancement works at various schools;

(b)  That the funding of £527,000 previously identified for the refurbishment and extension works at St Kenneth's Primary School be reallocated on the basis of Option 2 set out in Appendix 1 to the report, viz:-
