Education & Lifelong Learning Committee - Interview Sub-Committee

Chair:  Councillor Mitchell presided.

In attendance:  Chief Executive and Head of Personnel Services.

The following paragraphs are submitted for information only, having been dealt with under the powers delegated to the Sub-Committee.

It was agreed in terms of Section 50(A)(4) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973 as amended, that the public and press be excluded from the meeting for the following item on the grounds that the business involved the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in Paragraph 1 of Part I of Schedule 7(A) of the Act.

Appointment of Director of Education Services

The Sub-Committee interviewed the following four candidates:

1.       Ian Fraser, Head of Education Services (Children & Young People), East Renfrewshire Council;

2.       Stephen Kevin McKenzie, Head of Quality & Service Development, Renfrewshire Council;

3.       Frank Newall, Head of Service, West Dunbartonshire Council;

4.       James Sutherland, Head of Service (Planning & Resources), Inverclyde Council.

Decided:  to appoint Mr James Sutherland to the post of Director of Education Services.
