Inverclyde Local Plan:  First Review - Final Draft (2002)

There was submitted a report dated 17 June 2002 by the Depute Chief Executive on the  Inverclyde Local Plan:  First Review - Final Draft (2002) (1) advising of the statutory framework, statutory processes and timescales to adoption, including the consultation process, and (2) outlining the content of the Final Draft Local Plan and summarising the main policy chapters, together with a number of appendices containing extracts from the Final Draft Written Statement for review by Members and information on proposed timetables, strategies and Planning Practice Advice Notes.

(Provost Roach entered the meeting during consideration of this item of business).

During the course of discussion, Members asked a number of questions which were answered by the Head of Planning Services and Mr Macleod.

(Provost Roach and Councillor Nimmo departed from the meeting during the course of the discussion).

Following consideration, the Committee agreed (1) to endorse (a) the strategic development framework in the Plan; (b) the policy base of the Plan; (c) the Proposals Map and the accompanying Schedules of Development Opportunities;  and (d) the proposals outlined concerning implementation, monitoring and review of the Plan, (2) that the Head of Planning Services review aspects of Policy SA3 and (3) that it be noted the Head of Planning Services will be making the further necessary editorial amendments to the Written Statement and the Proposals Map prior to the meeting of the Committee to be held on 10 September 2002 and will report to that meeting, all as detailed in the Appendix.
