Waste Strategy Sub-Committee

Present:   Councillors Fyfe, McCormick (M), Stewart and White.

Remit of the Sub-Committee

There was submitted a report by the Director of Community Services to clarify and expand upon the Sub-Committee’s remit relating to waste strategy.

 

 

Decided:  that the Sub-Committee note its remit as set out in para 2.2 of the report insofar as the issues directly relate to waste strategy for the collection, disposal, reduction, reuse and recycling of waste.

 

 

The Convener being of the opinion that the undernoted item was relevant, competent and urgent moved its consideration to allow the Sub-Committee to deal with its business expeditiously.

Appointment of Vice-Convener

Decided:  that Councillor Fyfe be appointed the Vice-Convener of the Sub-Committee.

 

 

It was agreed in terms of Section 50(A)(4) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973 as amended, that the public and press be excluded from the meeting for the following item on the grounds that the business involved the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraphs 6, 8 & 9 of Part I of Schedule 7(A) of the Act.

Tenders for Fitting Out of Materials Recycling Facility

There was submitted a report by the Director of Community Services advising of the tendering process and its results following submissions from suitable companies wishing to supply and install plant and equipment in the materials recycling facility at Ingleston Park, Greenock and it was agreed that the tender from one of the companies detailed be accepted, all as detailed in the Appendix.
